At HP Barcelona we host 12 businesses and are the worldwide HQ of the 3D Printing and the Large Format Printing businesses as well as the largest HP R&D Lab outside of the US and a fantastic Demo center.

The Large Format Printing GBU is responsible for the business strategy, product portfolio and research and development for all HP Large Format Printing products at WW level, including HP DesignJet, HP PageWide XL, HP Latex and HP Stitch printers. HP leads this very dynamic market by bringing continuous innovation to our customers.

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal AI Architect to join our team. The Principal AI Architect will serve as a senior technical leader and subject matter expert, responsible for driving the design, implementation, and overseeing advance AI solutions that not only address our internal business needs but also meet the requirements of our customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in AI, machine learning, and software engineering, coupled with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Planning: Lead the development of the organization's AI strategy and roadmap, identifying opportunities for innovation and differentiation through AI technologies. Collaborate with executive leadership to align AI initiatives with business objectives and priorities.

2. Solution Design and Architecture: Define the technical architecture for complex AI systems, considering factors such as scalability, performance, security, and maintainability. Provide guidance and oversight to development teams to ensure that AI solutions are designed and implemented according to best practices.

3. Advanced Research and Development: Conduct advanced research in AI and machine learning, exploring emerging technologies, algorithms, and methodologies. Prototype and experiment with novel AI techniques to solve challenging business problems and the diverse needs of our different customers segments.

4. Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering, data science, and business stakeholders, to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Drive collaboration and alignment across teams to ensure the successful delivery of AI projects.

5. Technical Leadership: Serve as a technical mentor and advisor to ML engineers and data scientists, providing guidance on technical design, implementation, and optimization. Lead by example through hands-on involvement in designing and developing AI solutions.

6. Quality Assurance and Governance: Establish standards, guidelines, and best practices for AI development, ensuring that solutions to our customers meet high standards of quality, reliability, and performance. Implement processes and tools for testing, validation, and verification of AI models and systems.

7. Artificial Intelligence governance: lead the framework, rule and standards in AI team and project to ensure safety, fairness and respect for human rights.

8. Customer Engagement: Work closely with product management and customer experience to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Provide guidance and expertise to support the development of AI solutions that align with customer needs and drive business value.

Requirements:

· Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

· Proven experience (4 years) working as an AI Architect, AI Engineer, or similar role. with a track record of delivering innovative AI solutions.

· Deep expertise in machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, computer vision, or other AI-related fields.

· Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, C++ or golang

· Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

· Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and inspire technical teams and stakeholders.

· Experience working in cross-functional teams and collaborating with diverse stakeholders to deliver complex projects

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and engage with customers to understand their needs.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Previous experience in customer-facing roles, with a demonstrated ability to understand customer requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

· Experience where AI solutions have been successfully deployed to address customer needs

· Contributions to the AI community, such as publications, patents, open-source projects, or participation in conferences and workshops
