Job Responsibilities
- Develop pipeline and asset management tools to meet immediate, show-directed production demands, ensuring facility-wide consistency as directed by show and technical supervisors.
- Develop strong working relationships with the Production, Supervisor and Artist teams, facilitating good communication between the departments.
- Provide front-line production support across a wide range of disciplines, troubleshoot assets and shots, and help artists with general problem-solving.
- Work closely with engineering teams in testing, and releasing new and modified software tools.
- Help maintain a wide array of existing workflows and scripts.
- Solve pipeline related technical issues affecting Production, Artists and Supervisors.
- Proactively test new and existing features to ensure the highest levels of quality.
- Contribute to technical and user facing documentation.
- Assist artists in becoming more proficient with the pipeline and the company technologies.
Qualifications and Essential Skills
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience working as a Pipeline TD in a visual effects or computer animation studio
- Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining tools for use in a visual effects facility.
- Proficient at programming in Python, C++
- Experience with PyQt or PySide
- An understanding of Color Science
- Practical familiarity with industry standard creative and production support tools including Maya, Nuke, Houdini, Unreal, RenderMan, Tractor, ShotGrid, etc.
- Experience delivering complete milestones/tasks under tight deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Team player who is able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
