PURPOSE
 Responsible for directing team of technicians to safely and efficiently execute planned/scheduled and breakdown maintenance activities, ensuring quality of work and record keeping and safety of workplace.
 Act as a first point of contact for technicians on shift in case of technical or safety queries
 Ensure quality of maintenance work performed, and history recorded.
 Develop skills and competencies of technicians under their supervision.

  • COST MANAGEMENT
  • Monitor the shift working maintenance and repair costs and KPIs, to ensure they are in compliance with the terminal plans and flag any variances to management so that budget/ cost variations can be investigated and controlled.
  • Improve utilization and hands on tool time of technicians under their supervision, taking ownership of issues of poor performance.
  • PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • HEALTH SAFETY & ENVIRONMENTAL
  • Consider safety of personnel and assets at all times when assisting with breakdowns
  • and dispatching breakdown teams
  • Ensure compliance with HSSE policies and procedures, enforcing safe working.
  • practices and promoting a safe workplace.

  • Contribute to maintaining a strong safety culture within APMT operations.
  • Promote the delivery of continuous improvement and constant drive towards incident.
  • free operations and reducing unplanned equipment outages.

  • Ensure that the APMT maintenance policy, standards, operating procedures and guidelines effectively drive safety and govern the implementation of the safe working practices.
  • PERFORMANCE/OPERATIONAL
  • Provide end to end monitoring and control of all maintenance shift related WOs, from issue through to final close out.
  • Apply global standards and procedures for work execution and management.
  • Liaise with the Warehouse team to ensure the availability and timely issue of spare parts, materials and special tools, to support scheduled maintenance work.
  • Resolve anomalies raised by technicians under their supervision.
  • Monitor breakdown maintenance costs and the speed and effectiveness of the
  • breakdown response, providing continuous improvement to the breakdown.

  • Support the terminal Maintenance Analyst in providing specialized insight into
  • equipment failure characteristics and methods of repair

  • Monitor and act on breakdown related KPIs and exception reports.
  • Apply the global procedures for Unplanned (breakdown) Maintenance, making localized adjustments and enhancements, (where appropriate), minimizing time to repair and restoring equipment to safe and functional condition.
  • Support equipment incident investigations where these occur.

STRATEGY

  • Monitor the effectiveness of equipment repair strategies and suitability of shift resources and provide feedback to the Maintenance Co-Ordinator, Equipment and Reliability Managers
  • Support internal team members (with terminals and other discipline specialists) to

ensure that best practices for breakdown response are applied at the terminal.

  • ASSET INTEGRITY
  • Ensure all assets are returned to operations meeting full integrity and safety standards.

  • RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
  • Provide close collaboration with the Warehouse and Inventory team to ensure that appropriate materials and spare parts are available to support out of standard hours working.
  • Apply good work practices and CMMS skills to optimize the efficient utilization of all human and material resources for shift working within the terminal.
  • PEOPLE/COMMUNICATIONS
  • Ensure effective handover of work between shifts.
  • Provide day to day supervision and co-ordination of the shift working teams.
  • Ensure clear communication with the local (internal) clients, external customers and suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with APM Group values and business principle.
  • Liaise with Equipment Managers and Maintenance Co-Ordinator
