Your Impact


The Manufacturing Manager will play a key role in leading and achieving production targets while driving continuous improvement initiatives throughout the manufacturing process. This position requires hands-on involvement to guide and support the operations team, ensuring that safety and quality standards are consistently met. The ideal candidate will work to build a highly productive environment that fosters open communication, collaboration, and a positive workplace culture to drive world-class production. Additionally, this role involves developing team members, implementing best practices, and collaborating across departments to support new product introductions that align with the company's strategic goals.

What You’ll Do

Location: Phoenix, AZ
Reports to: Director, Manufacturing
Direct Reports: 3-6 Direct Reports

· Oversee all aspects of production, including daily planning, meeting output targets, managing costs, improving first-pass yield (FPY), and maintaining safety and quality standards.
· Ensure high-quality output while optimizing costs, resources, and adherence to best safety practices.
· Lead by example to position the organization as a leader in World-Class Manufacturing.
· Recruit, coach, and develop large teams of both salaried and hourly employees, fostering a culture of accountability and growth.
· Drive compliance with safety and environmental standards.
· Champion continuous improvement in safety, quality, cost, efficiency, and productivity. Provide feedback to senior leadership and leverage industry benchmarks to adopt best practices.
· Support new product launches and material introductions by collaborating with design teams, establishing process plans, managing budgets, and tracking project timelines to ensure timely delivery.
· Implement high standards in process control, key production metrics, consistent documentation, and 5S initiatives to maintain operational excellence.
· Implement contingency plans to address any production disruptions, ensuring minimal impact on operations.
· Lead the execution of departmental strategies and initiatives that align with overall business objectives.
· Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion within budget constraints.
· Collaborate effectively across departments, including Product, Finance, Engineering, and Quality, to ensure alignment across the business.

What You Bring

· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
· 8-10 years of experience in high-volume manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
· Strong leadership and decision-making capabilities with a focus on team development and engagement.
· Proven experience in introducing new products and materials into the production process.
· Excellent analytical skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to communicate proactively across all levels of the organization.
· Ability to excel under pressure, prioritize competing demands, and meet tight deadlines with consistent follow-through.
· Demonstrated sense of urgency and drive to achieve results.
· Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
· Proven experience implementing Lean practices to reduce waste, boost efficiency, and drive continuous improvement.

The Pay: Axon is a total compensation company, meaning compensation is made up of base pay, bonus, and stock awards. The starting base pay for this role is between USD 74,550 in the lowest geographic market and USD 119,280 in the highest geographic market. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: level, function, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, geographic market, and often a combination of all these factors.
