IO Interactive seeks a Level Designer for their new James Bond game, Project 007. You'll design captivating levels, crafting engaging missions that blend gameplay, narrative, and environmental storytelling. Responsibilities include creating initial layouts and prototypes, refining levels, collaborating with diverse teams (artists, animators, programmers, etc.), owning the player experience, documenting designs, and iterating on levels through playtesting. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience, proficiency in 3D level editors and visual scripting tools, and a strong understanding of level design principles.

  • Experienced with proprietary game engines

IO Interactive is currently looking for a Level Designer to join Project 007, a brand-new James Bond video game to be developed and published by IOI. Featuring a wholly original Bond story, players will step into the shoes of the world's favourite Secret Agent to earn their 00 status in the very first James Bond origin story.

As a Level Designer at IO Interactive, you'll play a key role in shaping immersive experiences in the world of 007. From initial layouts and gameplay prototypes to final in-game implementation, you will take ownership of and refine levels that set new standards in gaming.

What you will do:

  • Design captivating levels with a focus on delivering an engaging experience.
  • Craft engaging missions that integrate gameplay, narrative, and environmental storytelling.
  • Take a holistic approach to level design, balancing mechanics, progression, and overall experience.
  • Collaborate with diverse teams, including game designers, artists, animators, programmers, as well as dialogue and sound designers, to deliver cohesive and immersive levels.
  • Own the player experience within your levels and advocate for the highest quality at every stage.
  • Document your designs and communicate them clearly with the team.
  • Playtest, review, and iterate on levels to refine gameplay and improve quality.

Who you are:

  • Have 5+ years of relevant experience in level design with a portfolio showcasing your work.
  • Possess a holistic understanding of level design, from layout and mechanics to crafting memorable player experiences.
  • Proficient with 3D level editors and visual scripting tools.
  • Experienced in working with proprietary game engines.
  • A collaborative communicator who thrives in a team environment and values diverse perspectives.
  • Driven and passionate about creating innovative and engaging gameplay moments.

About The Company

IO Interactive is a 25-year old, AAA independent game studio, creators of HITMAN, Kane & Lynch, Mini Ninjas and Freedom Fighters. We are currently working on Project 007, Project Fantasy, and continue to develop Glacier, our award-winning game engine.
