Gimica and JustPlay seek a talented Level Designer to contribute to their next generation of casual mobile games. Responsibilities include designing engaging levels across various genres (puzzle, match-3, idle), collaborating on game concepts and mechanics, working with artists and developers on implementation, analyzing game metrics and user feedback, and participating in playtesting. The ideal candidate possesses 2+ years of mobile game level design experience, familiarity with casual game genres, knowledge of game balancing, strong creative problem-solving skills, Unity experience, and excellent teamwork abilities. The role offers flexibility for remote or hybrid work from their Munich office.

Your mission

We are a casual mobile game publisher (Gimica) and leading loyalty platform operator (JustPlay).

Our team is expanding, and we are seeking a talented Level Designer to help shape our next generation of casual games. You will be working across a variety of genres, collaborating with other developers and artists. Additionally, you will take on general game design tasks, helping to create and refine game systems and overall vision.

This role offers the flexibility to work fully remotely, or hybrid from our office in Munich. Job Responsibilities

  • Design and create engaging levels across multiple casual game genres.
  • Collaborate to develop game concepts, mechanics, and player experiences.
  • Work closely with artists and developers to ensure cohesive level design and implementation.
  • Analyze game metrics and user feedback to improve level designs and overall gameplay.
  • Participate in playtesting sessions, iterate on designs based on feedback, and ensure balance and flow in levels.
  • Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation of your designs and iterations.

The experience we hope you bring to JustPlay

  • 2+ years of experience in Level Design for mobile games.
  • Familiarity with casual game genres (e.g., puzzle, match-3, idle games) and understanding of what makes these games fun and engaging.
  • Knowledge of game balancing, pacing, and difficulty curve adjustments.
  • Strong creative problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with Unity and level design tools and software.
  • Ability to work well in a collaborative team environment and handle multiple projects at once.
  • Ideally, experience working remotely or with distributed teams.
