Job Description

Lead Level Artist needed for a fantasy RPG project by a top Swedish studio. Responsibilities include coordinating Level Designers and Environment Artists, defining modeling and texturing needs, managing tasks, and ensuring high-quality work. You will handle level design feedback, organize environment art tasks, support the prop team, and provide solutions for mesh assembly and fidelity. Daily feedback and pipeline organization for efficient game tile creation are also key. The role requires 7+ years of experience as a level artist, proven lead artist experience, Unreal Engine proficiency, and co-op game experience. The contract is for 6 months, with a potential extension, and can be remote or hybrid in Stockholm.

Mission brief: 

You will coordinate the work between Level Designers & Environment Artists. Set out the modeling and texturing needs, coordinate tasks to modelers and textures responsible for the map; and follow up on the progress and quality of the work with the team leads & Art Director.

Responsibilities:

  • Handle level design feedback and transition it to environment art
  • Organize tasks for the environment art team
  • Support our prop team with solutions for set dressing and composition
  • Support Environment Art with solutions for mesh assembly and our fidelity approach
  • Feedback and organize work for environment on daily basis
  • Organize pipeline for quick feed-back and ironing out game tiles

  • Start date: January 2025
  • Duration: 6 months, possible extension
  • Occupancy rate: 100% assignment (Full-time)
  • Level: Senior
  • Work set-up: remote or hybrid in Stockholm

 


Your player profile:

- 7+ years as a level artist

- Experience working as a lead artist managing the work of other artists

- Experience with Unreal Engine

- Experience working on co-op games

- Comfortable with giving artistic direction, giving feedback, and handling conflict
