Job Description

As an iOS Engineer at Sporty, you'll own and maintain existing iOS applications, release new app versions to various regions, build new features, and create UIs for major sporting events. You will work with a globally distributed team using Swift, UIKit, SwiftUI, Jenkins, and Fastlane. The role demands proficiency in REST APIs, push notifications, multithreading, and optimization techniques, all within a fast-paced, high-traffic environment.

Must have:

3+ years experience in Swift for iOS
Native iOS app development & REST API integration
Push notifications, multi-threading experience
Understanding of memory management, networking

About The Role

With tens of millions of visitors every week, we strive to be the best in the industry for our users. You’ll be responsible for taking ownership of our existing iOS applications implementing new features, building new UI pages, testing the applications and releasing into new regions to align with our growth plans all whilst working with a Globally spread team.

Your Day-to-day

- Take ownership and responsibility of our existing iOS applications

- Facilitate and release new versions of apps in several new regions

- Build new end to end features on our platforms

- Create new UIs to stay on top of various sporting events Globally (World Cup, Football Euros, Olympics etc)

Our stack: Swift, UIkit, SwiftUI (Not much in SwiftUI), Jenkins, Fastlane, MVC

You should apply if you have

- 3+ years experience writing clean code in Swift for iOS applications

- Experience developing, delivering, and supporting native iOS applications by integrating REST APIs, push notifications and multithreaded experience

- Understanding of multi-threading, memory management, networking, caching, performance optimisation, localisation, and security for mobile applications

- Sporty is an English speaking working environment, so we are looking for English speakers

Our interview process involves 3 main stages:

- Hackerrank test (Maximum of 90 minutes)

- A call with a member of our Talent team

- Final interview with our iOS Engineering team (You’ll meet with 3 engineers on separate occasions for 45 minutes each)

We can confidently say that we have a feedback loop of 24-48 hours on all stages, so you’ll never be left in the dark when you’re in process with us.
