This HR Business Partner role at Tesla's Gigafactory Berlin supports various business units (Engineering, Charging, Energy, Tech). Responsibilities include advising on HR policies, ensuring compliance, collaborating with management and stakeholders, driving key initiatives, coaching leaders, facilitating engagement surveys and action planning, supporting performance improvements, and succession planning. The role also involves advising on labor law, conflict handling, organizing workshops, and acting as an HR team ambassador. The ideal candidate will possess strong generalist HR experience, knowledge of German employment law, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

What You’ll Do


The primary responsibility of this role is to provide advice, guidance, and support to a variety of businesses (Engineering, Charging, Energy, Tech) in a truly generalist capacity. Operating as an HRBP, you will ensure that all HR policies and procedures are implemented in line with legislative and audit requirements; however, you will also ensure we do not do stupid corporate things! You will collaborate with local management, key stakeholders, and People COEs (Recruitment, Operations, Compensation, Benefits, Legal, Employee Relations, People Development, Learning, etc.), ensuring we bring in great talent, grow and develop key talent, proactively support performance improvements, and focus on people succession and the growth of teams and individuals.


  • Drive the local implementation of key initiatives in alignment with the broader HR strategy and business requirements
  • Coach, develop, and support local leadership on an ongoing basis, building local leadership capability
  • Facilitate group sessions regarding Tesla’s annual engagement survey and work with local management on action planning, ensuring consistent follow-up and progress accountability
  • Work with leadership on building culture (workforce sustainability, health, well-being)
  • Advise on local labour law regulations/implications and guide/coach leaders through conflict handling and grievance (in collaboration with Employee Relations and Employment Counsel)
  • Support in organising and facilitating workshops for local stakeholders on any relevant/required topics (from leadership to teaming to labour law, new process implementation, etc.)
  • Champion the HR team; be an ambassador for the team on the ground and support in building our powerful brand and reputation
What You’ll Bring


  • Strong generalist HR experience is essential for this role
  • Good working knowledge of local employment law and HR best practices
  • Excellent communication skills in English and German, both written and spoken; able to develop positive working relationships across all levels and functions
  • Proven track record of positively influencing teams
  • Ability to connect and engage with all teams at all levels and treat everyone as equal
  • Able and comfortable working in a developing, fluid, and constantly changing company
  • Effectively handle multiple priorities, organise workload, and meet deadlines
