Job Description & Summary

PwC is looking for a full-time Health and Safety Officer to join their team. The role involves ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, conducting audits, and advising management on risk minimization.

The health and safety officer establishes, manages and monitors standards, processes, communications, training and systems to ensure all responsibilities associated with Health and Safety are adhered to. You'll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. PwC Professional skills and responsibilities for this management level include but are not limited to: 

 

Responsibilities:

Policy and Procedures 

  • Develop and implement the company's health and safety policy and procedures; 
     

Compliance 

  • Ensure compliance to the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) 2005, ISO standard and other relevant regulations;
     

Audits and Inspections 

  • Carry out regular audits to identify risks on the premises;
     

Risk Assessment 

  • Assess the need for preventive measures to safeguard the health and safety of all stakeholders in the firm; 
     

Advise management 

  • Advise as regards practicable measures to minimise risk to stakeholders; for instance, advise on procurement of necessary personal protective equipment; 
     

Training 

  • Advise and ensure appropriate training programmes are provided to employees to meet the requirements of OSHA 2005.

 

Experience and Qualifications 

  • At least 3-4 years of working experience in a similar role; 

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety or any equivalent qualification.
