Job Description

As an Engineering Manager at Google, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of data management and analytics. You will lead a team of engineers in developing and delivering innovative solutions to meet the needs of Googlers across the organization. Your responsibilities will include driving high-impact projects, influencing data strategy, ensuring data integrity, collaborating with internal teams, and maintaining high development standards. You will be responsible for a large product budget and oversee the deployment of large-scale projects internationally.

Must have:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
8 years of experience with software development
3 years of experience in a technical leadership role
2 years of experience in a people management role
Experience in data management, data integration, distributed databases, and SQL pipelines

Good to have:

Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field
Experience implementing and integrating third-party applications within Finance, Supply Chain, HR, Marketing, etc.

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience.
8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
3 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing projects, with 2 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.
Experience in data management, data integration, or data domain, system integration, distributed databases, and SQL pipelines.

Preferred qualifications:

Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, or a related technical field.
Experience implementing and integrating third-party applications within Finance, Supply Chain, HR, Marketing, etc.

Responsibilities

Help conceive and deliver solutions to meet the data and analytics needs of Googlers. Drive high impact projects to deliver data management and analytical solutions for our partners across Google.
Influence the Connected Data strategy for enabling consistent, secured data assets based on canonical entity schema to support richer, higher level insights.
Ensure integrity of data under the purview of the projects, including establishing security procedures to protect and maintain the highest level of confidentiality and data security.
Partner with internal teams to define and implement solutions that improve internal business processes.
Maintain highest levels of development practices including: technical design, solution development, systems configuration, test documentation/execution, issue identification and resolution, writing clean, modular and self-sustaining code.
