We're looking for an Engineering Manager to join Prodigy, where you'll lead high-performing teams dedicated to building experiences that advance our mission to help every child love learning. In this role, you'll combine deep technical expertise with strategic thinking to empower engineers, drive technical excellence, and ensure our technology delights our users. You'll work closely with cross-functional leaders from product, design, and data teams to build products that make a meaningful impact on children's education.

As an Engineering Manager, you will be instrumental in shaping both the technical direction of our products and the growth of our engineering team. Your leadership will directly influence how we build and deliver high-quality software that supports our educational mission.

Your Impact

    • Inspire and Guide Teams: Lead and mentor engineering teams to foster a culture of accountability, performance, and continuous growth.
    • Deliver Excellence: Oversee workflows, eliminate blockers, and ensure alignment with organizational priorities to deliver high-quality projects.
    • Collaborate Strategically: Partner with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to transform business goals into actionable technical requirements.
    • Raise the Bar: Set and enforce high standards for code quality, testing, and documentation, ensuring best practices across the board.
    • Optimize Operations: Champion engineering metrics, retrospectives, and continuous improvement practices to drive operational excellence.
    • Engineer Solutions: Lead technical design reviews to deliver secure, scalable, and cost-effective solutions while balancing complexity and user impact.
    • Manage Priorities: Own the technical backlog, prioritizing between technical debt, new features, and scalability initiatives.
    • Ensure Performance: Monitor service health, aligning with SLOs to guarantee an outstanding user experience.
    • Develop Careers: Create structured development plans to empower team members and nurture their career growth.

About You

    • Proven Leadership: Experience leading and managing high-performing software engineering teams.
    • Technical Expertise: A strong hands-on background in software development and deep knowledge of development practices, testing strategies, and deployments.
    • Project Delivery Excellence: Expertise in project management, optimizing workflows, and driving successful project outcomes.
    • Problem-Solving Prowess: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
    • Agile Advocate: Experience with agile methodologies and modern software development practices.
    • Exceptional Communication: The ability to bridge technical and non-technical audiences effectively.
    • Cross-Functional Collaboration: A proven history of successful collaboration with product teams, designers, and stakeholders.
    • Educational Foundation: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field—or equivalent experience.
