The Esports team plays a pivotal role in designing and bringing to life the most amazing esports products for the community. They contribute to creating exceptional experiences that resonate with users and elevate the world of esports.

We are looking for a Director Team Relations to build and nurture our key relationships with teams at the pro and semi-pro level to drive deeper partnership opportunities at our esports events. The ideal candidate will be based in the CET time zone (+/- 1 hour) and will oversee our Manager Team Relations. This position reports directly to our SVP of Game Ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities:

As the Director Team Relations, you will play a critical role in developing and maintaining our roadmap and strategy for collaborating with esport team organizations, focusing on the following essential duties:

  • Maintain and enhance the roadmap and strategy for effective collaboration across team organizations, ensuring alignment with overall company objectives.
  • Oversee daily activities and coordination of team-related projects, ensuring timely execution and high-quality outcomes.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for key stakeholders, fostering strong relationships both internally and externally to facilitate collaboration.
  • Develop comprehensive timelines, deliverables, and goals for projects, ensuring clarity and accountability among team members.
  • Lead and direct marketing initiatives and social media strategies related to esports teams, driving engagement and brand awareness.
  • Cultivate and manage existing relationships while onboarding new partners and entrants into the esports ecosystem.
  • Track market developments, particularly emerging esports titles, to inform strategic decisions and capitalize on new opportunities.
  • Stay informed of changes and advancements in areas of expertise through ongoing professional development and training, in collaboration with the primary supervisor and Human Resources team.
  • Perform other responsibilities as required to support team goals and organizational objectives.


Requirements

What You Need:

  • 5+ years in Product Management, Event Management, or a related field within the tech, gaming, or entertainment industries.
  • Deep understanding of tier 1, tier 2, and competitive esports gaming titles, including their communities, league structures, and game formats.
  • Proven track record of designing exceptional esports experiences or products, adhering to industry best practices.
  • Ability to exercise strong judgment and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information.
  • Excellent organizational, project management, and time management skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Competence in managing multiple concurrent projects with diverse stakeholders in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and evaluative skills to assess and improve project outcomes.
  • Demonstrated understanding of technology use and workflow optimization to enhance systems and processes, driving toward annual goals.
  • Proficient in operating computers and technology devices, utilizing relevant software and applications in alignment with company policies.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within teams, upholding a high standard of integrity and ethics in support of ESL’s strategic interests and goals.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including proficiency in social media, customer service, and professional correspondence.
