Job Description

The Data Center Server Operations Manager oversees a team of Data Center Technicians, managing the installation, configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of server hardware and software. Responsibilities include managing daily operations, communicating priorities, implementing projects, hiring and developing team members, ensuring alignment with company objectives, and overseeing the installation and configuration of networking components. The role requires experience in data center environments, Linux/Unix administration, and project management. The team works with servers, components, networks, routers, hubs, bridges, switches, and networking protocols.

Must have:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
5+ years computing infrastructure experience
3+ years managing technical teams
Project management experience
Data center experience
Linux/Unix system administration

Good to have:

Global initiative execution experience
Environmental Health and Safety experience
Safety culture implementation

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
5 years of experience in computing infrastructure, networking, operating systems, or hardware.
3 years of experience managing a technical team.
Experience leading and managing projects from initiation to completion and directing operations management initiatives.

Preferred qualifications:

Experience working in data center environments, including building and operating infrastructure, and network and compute architecture and lifecycle, and Linux/Unix system administration.
Experience with initiating and executing initiatives in a global environment.
Experience in leading and improving Environmental Health and Safety initiatives.
Ability to implement and motivate the safety culture at the site, while fostering an inclusive, diverse and collaborative team environment.

As a Hardware Operations Manager, you will manage a team of Data Center Technicians. You will oversee the quality installation of server hardware and components and take charge of complicated installations/troubleshooting.

Your team will install, configure, test, troubleshoot and maintain hardware (like servers and its components) and server software (like Google's Linux cluster). They will also take on the configuration of more components such as networks, routers, hubs, bridges, switches and networking protocols. They may lead small project teams on larger installations and develop project contingency plans.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $99,000-$145,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
