Job Description

As a Customer Engineer, you will partner with technical Sales teams to differentiate Google Cloud to our customers. You will help prospective and existing customers and partners in understanding Google Cloud, develop creative cloud solutions and architectures to solve business issues, engage in proofs of concepts, and troubleshoot technical questions and roadblocks. You will use your expertise and presentation skills to engage with customers in understanding business and technical requirements and present practical and useful solutions on Google Cloud. Responsibilities include identifying and qualifying business opportunities, understanding key customer technical objections, developing strategies to resolve technical blockers, working directly with Google Cloud products to demonstrate and prototype integrations, guiding customers through assessments of existing legacy application environments, providing recommendations on prioritization roadmaps for infrastructure and application modernization, and recommending integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure required for successful Google Cloud implementation.

Must have:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
1 year of experience in technical sales engineering in a cloud computing environment
Experience with cloud infrastructure engineering
Experience with on-premise infrastructure engineering
Experience with virtualization or containerization platforms

Good to have:

Experience in one programming language
Experience in one or more technical areas (networking, security, databases, AI/ML, IoT, etc.)
Experience with cloud architecture and one or more cloud providers
Understanding of common systems management concepts

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
1 year of experience as a technical sales engineer in a cloud computing environment or in a customer-facing role, including working as a member of a professional services or Systems Engineering team.
Experience with cloud infrastructure engineering, on-premise infrastructure engineering, virtualization, or containerization platforms.

Preferred qualifications:

Experience in one programming language and in one or more technical areas (e.g., networking, security, databases, AI/ML, IoT, etc).
Experience with cloud architecture and one or more cloud providers.
Understanding of common systems management concepts such as image management, patching, automated deployment, etc.

Recommend integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure required to successfully implement a complete solution on Google Cloud.
