Blizzard is seeking a Content Specialist to join the Archival Team! Under supervision of the Archives Manager, the Content Specialist will be responsible for leading a large migration of legacy assets to a new Digital Asset Management system. This role aims to enhance access and discovery of Blizzard Entertainment's rich history, including art, game assets, photographs, and more.

This role is anticipated to be a hybrid work position, with some work on-site and some work-from-home. The potential home studio for this role is Irvine, CA. However, we understand each person’s circumstances may be unique and will work with you to explore other possible options, including remote work arrangements.

This is a 12-month temporary position.

What You Bring to the Table

Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

  • Prepare digital assets for migration by organizing, de-duping and tagging assets with appropriate metadata

  • Conduct the migration of legacy assets to a new asset management system in alignment with archival engineers in a phased cadence. Ensure the accurate and efficient transfer of various types of assets, including art, game assets, photographs, documents, and videos

  • Implement a quality assurance method for both ingesting historical digital assets and reviewing migrated assets to ensure compliance for long-term findability, access, and preservation

  • Work with the archives team to clearly provide status of asset migration and QA process

  • Support the Archival Team's initiative to uphold data governance standards in creating high quality consistent, authoritative metadata

  • Create standard operating procedures for historical archive to ensure new processes are shared and repeatable

Minimum Requirements

Experience

  • Demonstrated 6+ years' experience in digital asset, content management, or archival work and platforms

  • Experience with taxonomy creation, metadata and cataloging, converting, migrating, and bulk uploading of digital assets

  • Experience implementing content systems migration, planning for user adoption, and change management protocols

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong understanding of industry-standard methodologies in cataloging, metadata, records management, and collections management

  • Knowledge of Blizzard IP

  • Master’s degree in library science, Information Management, or a related field

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $26.83 - $49.63 Hourly. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Ultimately, your specific range and offer will be based on several factors, including relevant experience, performance, and work location. Your Talent Professional can share this role’s range details for your local geography during the hiring process. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed. While we strive to provide competitive offers to successful candidates, new hire compensation is negotiable.
