Minimum qualifications:

  • Experience with any of the following: compliance with data privacy laws, regulations, or incidents, user data disclosure (such as the electronic communications privacy act or state equivalents), cybersecurity legal issues, or conducting internal investigations.
  • Admitted to the bar and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law (e.g., have registered in-house status) in the state in which the position is located.

As an Associate Security Counsel, you will oversee Google’s response to requests for user data from public safety and similar agencies from around the world as part of Google’s Data Disclosure Strategy team in the legal department. This program provides legal subject matter expertise to ensure that user data is managed in a manner consistent with Google’s principles and policies, and governing legal requirements. The team works closely with the compliance team and others across the Google family, including members of the internal security, engineering, product and policy teams, as well as others within the legal department. The fast-paced work is exciting, important and often groundbreaking.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $195,000-$293,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
