The Area Mechanic Mechanical is responsible for routine and corrective maintenance in a variety of aspects within the mechanical trade at Walt Disney World Parks and Resorts. This role requires proficiency with tools and equipment, and may involve work from elevated platforms and confined spaces. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing components such as batteries, bearings, wheels and tires, chains, gearboxes, engines, hydraulic pumps, and seat or seat cushions. Additionally, maintenance of speed-ramps, conveyors, and tracking repairs using company databases are required. The position may involve handling cleaning chemicals and supplies, and additional Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required.
Must have:
  • Valid Florida driver's license
  • 4 years experience on small engines & automotive electronics
  • Experience on various tractors, backhoes, loaders & golf carts
  • Knowledge of light metal fabrication, hydraulic & pneumatic controls
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to read & interpret blueprints & schematics
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficiency in standard office software & mobile devices
Good to have:
  • 4+ years experience in commercial setting or industry where mechanical work was performed

Job Summary:

The Area Mech Mechanical is responsible for routine and corrective maintenance in a variety of aspects within the mechanical trade at Walt Disney World Parks and Resorts. The Area Mech Mechanical is proficient with tools of the trade and equipment. The field service position may include work from elevated platforms and confined spaces throughout the Walt Disney World Parks and Resort property.

The pay rate for this role in Florida is $24.76 per hour.

Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot, repair and replace batteries, bearings, wheels and tires, chains, gearboxes, engines, hydraulic pumps, and seat or seat cushions
  • Troubleshoot, maintain or repair speed-ramps and conveyors
  • Track repairs or work using company database
  • Cast members may be required to handle cleaning chemicals and supplies
  • Additional Personal Protective Equipment (face shields, goggles, refillable hand sanitizers, etc.) may be required

Basic Qualifications:

  • Valid Florida driver’s license
  • Four years’ minimum experience working on small engines and automotive electronics
  • Experience performing regularly scheduled maintenance on various tractors, backhoes, loaders and golf carts or lawn equipment; Club Car, Cushman, Yamaha, Noland, Mitsubishi, Daihatsu, Gem Car and Taylor Dunn
  • Knowledge of light metal fabrication, hydraulic and pneumatic controls
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficiency in standard office software programs and mobile electronic devices

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Four years’ or more experience in a commercial setting or industry where mechanical or millwright work was performed
