AI Research Scientist/Engineer - Contractor

We’re seeking a freelance AI Research Scientist/Engineer to join our diverse and distributed team from many disciplines. We are looking for a critical thinker that will evolve existing evaluation strategies, develop new features, analyze product usage information, and communicate discoveries to stakeholders.

What You Will Do

• This person will partner with a senior data scientist, product manager, and larger product team.
• They will work on a new-to-market generative AI product to define the data science and measurement strategy informing content strategy decisions and technical optimizations.

We Are Looking For

• Robust understanding of Artificial Intelligence as a field, including machine learning, natural language processing, and generative AI.
• Extensive experience in designing and implementing machine learning benchmarking and evaluation metrics.
• Knowledge of common NLP problems: named entity recognition, sentence classification, tokenization, and others.
• Experience with machine learning in the Python ecosystem: PyTorch, Tensorflow, Scikit, Pandas, etc.
• Experience in research, development, and implementation of novel ML methods.
• Develop and implement metrics to measure the accuracy, efficiency, and overall effectiveness of LLM-based AI models
• Daily participation in client-facing standups, workshops, and discussions on messaging channels.
• Availability from 9:00 am EST - 6:00 pm EST via normal communication channels (Slack, Zoom, Teams, E-mail, etc.)

The base pay for the AI Research Scientist/Engineer contractor role is between $100/hour and $112/hour. The actual salary is dependent upon many factors, such as: experience, knowledge, skills, and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
