Job Description

This 2nd shift Security Officer position at Mattel's Pennsylvania Distribution Center ensures a safe and secure environment. Responsibilities include enforcing Mattel's Global Security Department Best Practices, adhering to CTPAT recommendations, responding to emergencies, protecting against theft and unauthorized access, performing data entry for inbound/outbound vehicles, screening personnel, reporting incidents, patrolling the facility (using Mattel vehicles), and providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will possess one or more years of security experience (corporate, warehouse, law enforcement, or military), a valid driver's license, strong communication and reporting skills, and the ability to handle physical demands (lifting up to 50 pounds, standing/walking for extended periods).

Job Description

The Opportunity: 
Will provide a safe and secure workplace for all people on property while protecting Mattel’s assets/interests. This is a second shift position. (3:00pm to 11:30pm) 

What Your Impact Will Be: 

  • Enforce Mattel Global Security Department Best Practices and adhere to US Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT) program recommendations
  • Respond to all emergencies and take appropriate action
  • Protect the Distribution Center from theft, vandalism, fire and/or unauthorized access
  • Perform administrative data entry duties for inbound and outbound tractor trailers or vehicles
  • Screen people entering/exiting through the employee entrance/exit areas to ensure authorized entry
  • Report security/safety incidents to Shift Supervisors or the Site Supervisor to ensure proper documentation and follow-up
  • Drive a Mattel fleet vehicle or golf cart throughout the Mattel distribution center and satellite warehouse location (where applicable) to deter any type of activity that would negatively impact the business
  • Provide a high level of customer service to all Mattel people, vendors or visitors on property
  • Additional responsibilities may be requested based on business needs at your location

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For: 

  • One or more years of experience working as a Security Officer in a corporate, warehouse, law enforcement or military environment is preferred.
  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED); one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • CPR certification desired
  • Valid Driver’s License is required while employed as a Security Officer to drive Mattel fleet vehicles and fulfill the expectation of the job
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business policies, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals including detailed incident reports writing.
  • Good Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees, clients, customers and the general public.
  • Solid basic math skills.
  • Basic computer knowledge – (Word, internet and email)
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • The ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • The ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to rotate shifts based on business need
