We’re looking for a visionary and talented 2D Compositing & FX Artist to join us on PAW Patrol!

 

This role requires a solid background in motion graphics and strong proficiency in Toon Boom Harmony and is crucial to creating visually captivating scenes by combining digital FX, compositing layers, and animated elements within our production pipeline. You will collaborate with FX artists, supervisors, and designers to ensure that the final output aligns with the creative vision, style, and technical standards of the project.


Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Directors, FX artists, Design Supervisor, and the Art Director to interpret and implement the creative vision, ensuring visual style consistency throughout.
  • Create clean, organized compositions that are efficient, easy to update, and visually cohesive and compelling.
  • Set up, template and manage technical aspects of all 2D shots.
  • Integrate 2D and 3D elements, such as backgrounds, animated assets, lighting, and FX in Toon Boom Harmony and After Effects, to produce polished final shots.
  • Create and animate the simple graphic 2D elements such as characters, props and locations in Toon Boom Harmony for a children’s 3D animated show.
  • Create 2D elements such as HUD’s, 2D FX, 2D graphic overlays and 2D animated screens that will be used in the show.
  • Create 2D line art based on 3D assets.
  • Organize and archive assets for future use.
  • Provide input and collaborate on solutions to workflow challenges, proactively suggesting improvements and addressing potential issues.
  • Communicate regularly with team leads to meet project timelines and manage compositing-related technical challenges.
  • Render and integrate background elements from Photoshop and Animation sequences from Toon Boom Harmony.
  • Perform early-stage compositing and scene preparation as needed to support the pipeline, including rigging of 2D elements in Harmony


Qualifications:

  • Strong experience with Toon Boom Harmony is essential, primarily Design, FX and Rigging
    Strong experience with Photoshop is essential.
  • Motion graphics or graphic design experience is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of 3D tools like Maya or Blender is advantageous.
  • Background in CG production.
  • Strong compositing and artistic skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Drawing and conceptual design skills is an asset.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a collaborative approach to technical and creative challenges.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and contribute to shared goals
