Job Description

This UX Designer role at YouTube Ads, within the Premium Advertiser Experiences (PAX) team, requires a minimum of 4 years of experience in product design or UX. Responsibilities include leading product design for one platform, contributing to high-priority areas, collaborating with UX Researchers and Product Management, balancing platform constraints and stakeholder needs, and delivering effective design solutions. The ideal candidate will have experience designing across multiple platforms, working with technical/design teams, and a strong understanding of systems design and standardization. The role involves working within a 70-person team, collaborating across various functions to drive strategy, identify opportunities, and create seamless user experiences from concept to launch. The candidate will also contribute to improving features within a user-centered design process and influence product design strategy.

Must have:

4+ years UX/Product Design experience
Cross-platform design experience
Wireframing, prototyping skills
Systems design & standardization
Collaboration with engineering & PM
Digital/video advertising experience

Good to have:

Master's degree in related field
Experience in a complex organization
Project leadership experience
Understanding of technical constraints
Ability to lead product ideation

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
4 years of experience in product design or UX.
Experience designing across multiple platforms, working with technical/design teams to create user flows, wireframes, and building user interface mockups and prototypes.
Experience with systems design and standardisation of patterns.
Experience working in the digital/video advertising space.

Preferred qualifications:

Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
2 years of experience working in a complex, cross-functional organization.
1 year of experience leading design projects.
Experience with technical constraints and limitations as they apply to designing for platforms such as desktop and mobile (Android and iOS).
Ability to lead and ideate products from scratch and improve features within a user-centered design process and influence product design strategy.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

You will be an experienced UX designer who embraces cross-functional collaboration to drive strategy, identify opportunities, and produce seamless user experiences from conception to launch.

Responsibilities

Lead product design for one platform, while also contributing to additional high priority areas within Premium Advertiser Experiences (PAX).
Understand business goals and seek to understand competitors, opportunities, and challenges.
Collaborate with User Experience Researchers (UXR) to establish research direction and better inform product direction and designs through a users point of view.
Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, partner teams, and leadership throughout all stages of the product cycle, from inception through to delivery.
Balance platform constraints, technical limitations, and stakeholder needs to deliver effective design solutions.
