UI Senior Designer

Overview

This position is available for interested candidates based in the following additional locations: Boise, Idaho, United States of America and Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.

You will be designing digital experiences that help our direct customers get informed about our vast product portfolio.

Our work as User Experience directly touches our customers, We don’t just design discreet product catalogues and informational pages. We design integrated, complex systems which serves our direct customers as well as our vast array of Retail & Distribution partners.

As a Senior UI designer you will help to deliver these experiences. You will work with UX designers, copywriters, experience researchers, product owners and developers to craft the shape of the experience. You will also work with proposition managers, customer experience managers, lawyers, risk and compliance folk to ensure the products meet the needs of the business.

Job Description

You will be inspiring a team of UI designers, providing creative direction and ensuring synergy across the teams. You will be responsible for supporting the creative strategy and vision for the HP stores, managing day to day UI interface upgrades, setting guidelines for store and merchandising teams, and managing the workload of contractors. You will also drive improvements in production processes, tools development, editorial policy (as it pertains to design standards), and platform evolution. This role requires internal and external communication with key stakeholders across the Digital Direct organization. Building and maintaining these relationships and understanding the intricacies of the product needs across many international markets will be a key responsibility of the role.

Tasks

  • A strong passion for Technology is a must, and a passion for eCommerce is highly valuable.
  • Deep knowledge of editorial, digital, publishing and User Interface design.
  • Ability to creative direct multiple phases of design initiatives at a high volume.
  • Familiarity with design trends across multiple cultures and languages.
  • Fluent in the creative and design lifecycle, terminology, workflow, and production management.
  • Conceptual thinker who is strategically centered.
  • Ability to consider long-term impact of decisions while continually elevating creative day-to-day.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Resourceful, creative, and collaborative.
  • Deep passion for the HP brand and history and customer experience.
  • Proven ability to manage deadlines and work effectively with cross-functional teams under strict deadlines.
  • Ability to motivate, mentor and inspire designers
  • Ability to maintain strong team dynamic across multiple offices/time zones.

Skills

  • You will have worked in eCommerce sector with FMCG experience
  • Understands Content, Data & Feed Structures
  • Experience in relying on analytics and data to shape product decisions and empower tracking the effectiveness of change
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where continuous innovation is desired
  • Is able to dive deep and is never out of touch with details of the business.
  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves and do whatever is necessary; general manager/ owner mentality
  • Track record for being detail-orientated with a demonstrated ability to self-motivate and follow-through on projects.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
  • Initiative, having the confidence to make decisions and act on them

Experience & Qualifications

  • More than 5 years in UX/UI Design
  • eCommerce major advantage
  • Enterprise UI/UX a plus
  • Strong understanding of modern UX technologies, theories, architecture, and development techniques
  • Worked with or Set Design System rules.
  • Expert proficiency in necessary UX tools, Figma advantageous, 
  • Exceptional communication, presentation and storytelling skills

Education

  • BA or BS degree in UX/UI design, Communications, Marketing or Computer Science

The base pay range for this role is $104,800 to $158,250 annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to US candidates only).  Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
