Job Description

As a Software Engineering Manager at Google, you'll lead a team of engineers working on cutting-edge AI projects. You'll be responsible for developing the Google Generative AI SDK, which empowers third-party developers to leverage Gemini models for building AI-powered applications. You'll also collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance the state-of-the-art in LLMs and bring real-world impact to Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Your expertise in software development, leadership, and AI will be crucial in building a robust generative AI infrastructure for GCP.

Must have:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
8 years of experience with software development
5 years of experience in a technical leadership role
5 years of experience in a people management role
Experience in developing software applications using TypeScript and Go programming languages

Good to have:

Master's degree in Computer Science or related technical field
2 years of experience with software development in Node, Go, or Python
2 years of experience building products or features that utilize machine learning models
Experience with inter-team/cross-functional collaboration
Experience generating innovative ideas and excellent execution

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
5 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing projects, with 5 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.
Experience in developing software applications using TypeScript and Go programming languages.

Preferred qualifications:

Master's degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
2 years of experience with software development in Node, Go, or Python.
2 years of experience building products or features that utilize machine learning models through the full cycle of data collection, model development to deployment.
Experience with inter-team/cross-functional collaboration.
Experience generating innovative ideas and excellent execution.

Develop the Google Generative AI SDK that enables third-party developers to leverage the Gemini models.
Understand developers of Large Language Model-based applications.
Build production-scale features to productionize a new generative AI technical stack.
Collaborate with partner product areas/teams to advance LLM state-of-the-art techniques, and realize real-world product impact in the meantime.
