Job Description

As a Software Engineer III at Google, you'll contribute to improving Zamm infrastructure, enabling Googlers to administer production more collaboratively and predictably. This involves designing, implementing, and maintaining components and features of Zamm, developing software and infrastructure with a focus on long-term maintainability, troubleshooting test infrastructure issues, and building modular systems to solve complex problems. You'll foster engineering best practices and collaborate cross-functionally. The role focuses on improving efficiency for SREs, Software Engineers, and Trusted Partner Cloud operators and aims to better spread SRE best practices. You will have opportunities to influence technical design, quality, processes, and team culture.

Must have:

Bachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent experience
2+ years experience with programming languages (Java, Python, Go, JavaScript, C++)
Back-end coding experience
Design, implement, maintain Zamm infrastructure components
Develop maintainable software and infrastructure
Troubleshoot infrastructure issues

Good to have:

Mobile application development
Distributed and parallel systems
Machine learning
Information retrieval
Natural language processing
Networking
Large software system development

Production software development experience

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Business Administration, Computer Science, Finance, Statistics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
2 years of experience working with programming languages e.g., Java, Python, Go, JavaScript, C++.
Experience in back-end coding.

Preferred qualifications:

Experience working with some of the following: web application development, Unix/Linux environments, mobile application development, distributed and parallel systems, machine learning, information retrieval, natural language processing, networking, developing large software systems, or security software development.
Experience developing production software.
Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with teams.
Ability to work independently on challenging problems and passion for quality.
Ability to apply problem-solving skills to complex issues.
