Job Description

As a Software Engineer III, you will work towards improving infrastructure which allows Googlers to administer production in a more collaborative and predictable manner, empowering better, more efficient (SREs), Software Engineers and Trusted Partner Cloud operators and easier spread of SRE best practices. In this role, you will have an opportunity to influence what we build and how we build it (technical design, quality, processes and team culture). You will be responsible for designing, implementing, landing, and maintaining components and features of Zamm infrastructure. You will develop software and infrastructure with a focus on long-term maintainability and troubleshoot test infrastructure issues. You will also design and build simple modular systems to solve complex problems and foster engineering best practices in testing, code reviews, and development.

Must have:

Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Business Administration, Computer Science, Finance, Statistics, or related field
2 years of experience working with programming languages (Java, Python, Go, JavaScript, C++)
Experience in back-end coding

Good to have:

Experience working with web application development, Unix/Linux environments, mobile application development, distributed and parallel systems, machine learning, information retrieval, natural language processing, networking, developing large software systems, or security software development
Experience developing production software
Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with teams
Ability to work independently on challenging problems and passion for quality
Ability to apply problem-solving skills to complex issues

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Business Administration, Computer Science, Finance, Statistics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
2 years of experience working with programming languages e.g., Java, Python, Go, JavaScript, C++.
Experience in back-end coding.

Preferred qualifications:

Experience working with some of the following: web application development, Unix/Linux environments, mobile application development, distributed and parallel systems, machine learning, information retrieval, natural language processing, networking, developing large software systems, or security software development.
Experience developing production software.
Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with teams.
Ability to work independently on challenging problems and passion for quality.
Ability to apply problem-solving skills to complex issues.
