Summary

Google is seeking a Software Engineer III specializing in Image Processing for Pixel Camera. Responsibilities include developing, implementing, and deploying imaging signal processing (ISP) features for emerging camera technologies; developing camera ISP algorithms to meet image quality, latency, and power targets; improving camera ISP quality and tuning methods; and collaborating with various teams (silicon, hardware, software, research, and camera tuning) to develop solutions for commercialized products. The role requires managing project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables, as well as designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining, and enhancing software solutions. The ideal candidate will have experience with image signal processing, computer vision, computational photography, color space management, and HDR system design.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years software development experience
  • 2+ years experience with data structures/algorithms
  • Develop and deploy ISP features
  • Develop camera ISP algorithms
  • Improve camera ISP quality
Good to have:
  • Master's degree in CS/EE
  • 5+ years Image Signal Processing experience
  • Experience with color space management
  • Experience with HDR system design
  • Experience with ML-based image processing

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree in an industry setting.
  • 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering, or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in Image Signal Processing.
  • 5 years of experience in image processing, computer vision, and computational photography development.
  • Experience with color space management and tone adjustment algorithms.
  • Experience with HDR system design and management.
  • Experience with Machine Learning (ML) based image processing model design.

  • Develop camera ISP algorithms to achieve image quality, latency, and power targets.
  • Improve camera ISP quality and tuning methods by developing novel pipelines.
  • Work with a variety of related teams including the silicon, hardware, software, research, and camera tuning teams to develop novel solutions to achieve quality and performance goals for commercialized products.
