Job Description

Google seeks a Software Engineer III to manage the lifecycle of millions of virtual machines. Responsibilities include implementing and maintaining highly reliable, large-scale computer systems, participating in complex projects supporting TPUs and GPUs, analyzing and designing solutions for VM orchestration, and integrating with stakeholders across the Google Cloud Platform. The role requires expertise in data structures, algorithms, Java programming, software design, and debugging. Experience with large-scale distributed systems and cloud-based products is preferred. The ideal candidate will manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables, while designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining, and enhancing software solutions.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years experience with data structures/algorithms
  • 2+ years Java programming experience
  • Software design and debugging experience
  • Implement and maintain reliable, large-scale systems
  • Work with TPUs and GPUs
Good to have:
  • Experience with large-scale distributed systems
  • Experience delivering cloud-based products
  • Object-Oriented Analysis and Design experience

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience with data structures/algorithms and software development in one or more programming languages.
  • 2 years of experience with programming in Java.
  • Experience in software design and debugging.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in building large scale distributed systems and reliable systems.
  • Experience in delivering cloud based products.
  • Experience with Object-Oriented Analysis and Design.

  • Participate in complex projects and support Google's Tensor Processing Unit (TPU) and Graphics Processing Unit (GPU). 
  • Participate in analysis and design of solutions for managing the orchestration and life cycle of millions of Virtual Machines.
  • Work and integrate with stakeholders from across the Google Cloud Platform stack.
