Job Description

The Software Engineer 2 will collaborate with Product Owners, System Engineers, and other Software Engineers to design, develop, test, troubleshoot, and maintain a mission-critical containerized enterprise web application within a Kubernetes environment. Responsibilities include working with various technologies like Python, Django, Docker, Kubernetes, SQL (MySQL), RESTful APIs, and Git. Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Linux command line is crucial. The role requires active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.

Must have:

Linux CLI experience
Python development
Docker & Kubernetes
SQL (MySQL)
REST API design
CI/CD & Git
Bash scripting

Good to have:

Celery Task Scheduler
NGINX/HAProxy
Atlassian Suite (Jira/Confluence)
Frontend technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React)

Description

Serving Maryland and the Greater Washington D.C. area, SageCor Solutions (SageCor) is a growing company bringing complete engineering services and true full lifecycle System Engineering services to areas requiring (or desiring) nationally-recognized expertise in high performance computing, large data analytics and cutting edge information technologies.

Active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph required.

SWE-2 Qualifications:

Master's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus three (3) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus five (5) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity

Seven (7) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

Position Description:

The Software Engineer shall be responsible for collaborating with Product Owners, System Engineers, and Software Engineers to design, develop, test, troubleshoot, and sustain a mission-focused containerized enterprise web application in a Kubernetes environment.

Position Required Skills:

Experience with the Linux command line interface (CLI)
Experience developing Bash scripts
Recent software development experience using Python
Willingness to learn the Django Web framework
Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker
Experience with SQL technologies such as MySQL
Experience with RESTful API design and development
Experience with CI/CD principles, methodologies, and tools such as GitLab CI
Experience with Git Source Control System

Position Desired Skills:

Experience with the Celery Task Scheduler
Experience with Reverse Proxies such as NGINX and HAProxy
Experience with container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes
Experience with the Atlassian Suite of Tools including Jira and Confluence
Familiarity with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and JavaScript frameworks including React
