Overview

The Social Listening Manager is a critical contributor within the overall Funko Marketing function and Funko organization more broadly.  Responsible for monitoring, analyzing and interpreting social media conversations and trends, this role will assist in informing brand strategy, enhancing consumer engagement and communicating fan insights to the larger Marketing organization.

A marketing professional who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, the Social Listening Manager will be responsible for utilizing advanced social listening tools to track brand mentions, industry keywords, and emerging trends across various platforms, gathering valuable insights related to consumer sentiment and consumer behavior more broadly.  This role will analyze collected data, identify notable trends and customer feedback, and socialize findings among cross-functional teams.  They will also serve as an analytics expert in pulling together owned social performance and insights. In close collaboration with Marketing, PR and the Customer Service teams, this role will translate social media insights and findings into actionable recommendations, with the goal of improving brand loyalty, customer satisfaction and overall brand perception. 

The Social Listening Manager must be vigilant in monitoring real-time conversations, notifying marketing leadership of any potential crisis situations, while simultaneously developing strategies to mitigate negative sentiment.  Additionally, this role will be required to stay up to date on industry news and social media trends, ensuring that the brand remains agile and responsive to market changes, ultimately contributing to Funko’s growth and success.

The ideal candidate must be a self-starter who is passionate about data, the consumer and current events/pop-culture.  They will be tasked in combining their analytical expertise with strong communication skills to foster a deeper understanding of customer needs and preferences.

What You’ll do: 

  • Social Media Monitoring: 
    • Track and monitor brand mentions, keywords, and industry trends across various social media platforms.
    • Utilize social listening tools to gather insights and data on audience sentiment and behavior.
  • Data Analysis: 
    • Analyze social media metrics and conversation trends to identify potential opportunities and risks for the brand.
    • Generate reports that highlight key findings and actionable insights for marketing and communication strategies.
    • Collect and review owned social performance, distill and recap performance highlights for leadership, and identify insights for future optimization
  • Customer Insights: 
    • Provide actionable recommendations based on social listening data to improve customer engagement and brand loyalty.
    • Collaborate with the customer service team to address emerging issues and enhance overall customer experience.
  • Competitive Analysis: 
    • Monitor competitors’ social media activities and strategies to identify best practices and areas for improvement.
    • Report on competitors’ social media sentiment and engagement levels to inform strategic decisions.
  • Collaboration: 
    • Work closely with marketing, PR, and product teams to ensure social listening insights are effectively integrated into broader strategies.
    • Facilitate workshops and presentations to share findings and educate teams on the importance of social listening.
  • Trend Identification: 
    • Stay up-to-date with social media trends, consumer behavior, and digital marketing best practices to inform strategies and tactics.
    • Identify emerging topics of interest that could impact the brand and the industry.
  • Crisis Management: 
    • Assist in developing and implementing crisis management strategies based on negative sentiment or potential social media fallout.
    • Monitor real-time conversations during critical events or issues related to the brand.

What you’ll bring: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of experience in social media management, digital marketing, or social listening analytics.
  • Proficiency in social listening tools (e.g., Brandwatch, Pixlee/Emplifi, Sprout Social, Mention) and data analysis software.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and generate actionable insights.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to present findings clearly and effectively.
  • Collaborative mindset with strong interpersonal skills to work across various teams.
  • Knowledge of social media trends, platforms, and best practices.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience in a similar role within an agency or corporate environment.
  • Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) tools and website analytics (e.g., Google Analytics).

Salary Information 

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $105,000 - $130,000 annually. ​Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives and restricted stock units.
