Elsewhere Entertainment is looking for a Senior VFX Artist to join the development of a new IP.

As a member of the Art department, you’ll be creating and adapting special effects for our exciting new project. Your work will add to the atmosphere of our game and support different gameplay elements and the cinematics. Lastly, you will contribute to innovations in techniques and processes to improve project quality.
As a member of the project, you’ll help take the studio and our game from great to even better—with a focus on inclusivity, mutual respect (for ourselves and our players), thoughtfulness, empathy, professionalism, and collaboration.
You’ll help us by…
Authoring a variety of real-time VFX elements using particles and shaders through a combination of third-party software and proprietary toolsets
Following the stated art direction as you craft realistic effects increasing believability and atmosphere of environments and narrative
Contributing to the player experience by creating striking and artistic visual effects, accentuating gameplay features as consequences of player actions.
Optimizing the special effects in keeping with the technical limitations of different development platforms
Determining special effects requirements with the design, audio and artistic teams
Working with different departments on integration of VFX features into the game engine through different techniques like animated shader effects, flipbooks and particle rendering
Contributing to pipeline development and defining workflows for the VFX Team.
You’re awesome because you have…
Proven experience (7 years) in VFX
Proficiency in a game engine’s special effect system (Unreal, Crytek, Unity, etc.)
Deep knowledge of authoring simulations like destruction, fire, smoke and fog through simulation software such as Houdini, Thinking Particles, Fume Fx or similar
Excellent understanding of authoring VFX for physically based rendering and lighting
An impressive portfolio of realistic visual effects showcasing artistry and attention to detail
An ability to easily adapt to in-house tools and a constantly evolving environment and technology stack
Knowledge of scripting through code and/or node-based systems
Able to fracture-model and build destruction simulations
Experience of standard art software and 3D packages like Photoshop, Substance Designer, Maya
Bonus points for…
Experience with procedural workflows and techniques
Knowledge of graphics programming and shading code or graphs
