Job Description

Senior Support Engineer needed for a large international investment fund's MetaSystems project. This role involves providing first-level support to users, troubleshooting issues, identifying root causes, and implementing solutions. The position also requires improving system efficiency by developing Python applications for automation and adding telemetry for enhanced system visibility. Responsibilities include reproducing problems, proposing solutions, writing Python applications using libraries like Celery, and working with databases such as MySQL in a Unix-based environment.

Project description

Large international investment fund has a position in MetaSystems project - a simulation environment that we develop internally to support research, testing and generation of a class of Alphas known as Metas.

Responsibilities

The role of the MetaSystem Support Engineer is two-fold:

(i) the engineer is to provide first-level support for the users to handle any issues that may occur. This would involve reproducing the problem, identifying the root cause, and to propose/implement solutions to them;

(ii) to improve the efficiency of the system by developing tools to automate various parts of the system. This would involve writing Python applications to help with certain tasks, as well as adding telemetry to allow us to have more visibility into the various parts of the system.

Skills

Must have

Min 3 years of experience in IT

Enjoys problem solving and working in a dynamic and fast paced environment

Able to program in Python as well as some exposure to relevant libraries such as Celery

Have a keen eye for detail and able to delve deep into problems to solve them.

Familiarity with databases such as MySQL

Comfortable working in a Unix based environment

Nice to have

NumPy, Pandas
