Job Description

Google's Chrome on iOS team seeks a Senior Software Developer to design and implement new user-facing features for Chrome on iOS. Responsibilities include collaborating with designers, developing prototypes, optimizing application speed and scale, adding automated tests, and working within both open-source and proprietary codebases. The ideal candidate possesses 3+ years of iOS development experience, proficiency in relevant programming languages, and a strong understanding of software design principles. The role involves building innovative user experiences and contributing to the improvement of the Chrome browser on iOS.

Must have:

5+ years software development experience
3+ years iOS development experience
Experience with data structures/algorithms
Software design and architecture experience
Testing, maintenance, and launch experience

Good to have:

Objective-C, Swift, and C++ experience
AI-powered feature development
iOS UI frameworks knowledge
MVP application design and reactive UI knowledge
Experience shipping end-user features

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, and with data structures/algorithms.
3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
3 years of experience with iOS development.

Preferred qualifications:

Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
Experience with programming in Objective-C, Swift and C++.
Experience shipping end-user features and owning the rollout and impact analysis.
Experience with building AI powered features.
Knowledge of iOS UI frameworks, Model–View–Presenter (MVP) application design and reactive touch based UI.
Knowledge of iOS mobile application development.

Responsibilities

Design and implement new user-facing features in Chrome for iOS.
Collaborate with designers to create innovative user experiences. Develop prototypes quickly to validate interactions and product designs.
Optimize applications to maximize speed and scale, factoring in mobile network latency and bandwidth constraints.
Add automated tests to validate features and help our manual testers build a test plan for them.
Work in the open-source Chromium repository as well as Google’s proprietary code base.
