ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Within the Wind River Cloud team, we work with large-scale projects like Kubernetes, Docker, OpenStack and fast-paced Open-Source technologies that are in high demand from our customers. Wind River Cloud has adopted these technologies into the core of our product, which is driving us to find experienced and high-performing individuals that can learn and contribute to these container and virtualization solutions. In addition, Wind River Cloud team is a leading contributor to the Open Source StarlingX cloud native project, to manage and maintain the critical infrastructure for highly distributed Edge solutions, including 5G, Autonomous Vehicles, Industrial Automation, and Augmented Reality. Wind River contributes and builds upon the work within StarlingX to ensure it meets the demands of these critical applications.
The right candidate will possess proven software engineering skills. You are expected to be versatile and able to thrive in a dynamic environment. You are comfortable managing competing priorities and can bring order to ambiguous scenarios. Maturity, impeccable judgment, and the ability to influence and lead are essential to success in this role. The Lab infrastructure team works along with Lab Operations on the devices contained within the lab. While Lab Operations is responsible for the hardware and its physical connectivity, LAB Infrastructure team coordinates activities with LAB Operations.
Responsibilities:
- Implementing new labs based for their intended purpose.
- Troubleshooting and fixing issues within labs
- Daily Sanity run and troubleshoot.
- Miscellaneous activities involving labs.
- Work with build and tools teams to integrate the lab into the CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience implementing network monitoring solution that enables engineering teams to troubleshoot any potential issues.
- Experience automating lab configuration including automated switching between predefine configurations.
ABOUT YOU
Core Competencies & Demonstrated Success
- Server knowledge is required
- Strong foundation in DevSecOps principles and implementations
- Excellent understanding of containers, deployment systems, and container management platforms, preferably Kubernetes
- Strong analytical and debugging skills
- Excellent programming and debugging skills in a Linux environment in one or more of Python, Java, Golang and C/C++.Good exposer in back-end and UI automation
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Exceptional team player who works well in collaborative environments
- Self-managed, fast learner with the desire and ability to master new technologies
- Experience with containers and/or cloud-based technologies including Kubernetes, OpenStack would be an asset
- Good experience in Automation (Regression/Sanity)
- Growth Mindset who is passionate about learning and applying new technologies
- Experience with Networking and Storage a big plus
Qualifications
- Engineering degree (Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering, or equivalent technical degree)
- 5+ years of relevant technical experience in software development and testing automation.
