As our Senior Accounting Manager, you’ll be an instrumental cog in the Accounting team wheel of Gojek that directly impacts the financial reporting process. Reporting directly to the Head of Accounting and collaborating with the other finance functions (FP&A, tax, AR, AP, treasury and procurement) as well as business, product and other corporate functions, your main objective will be to ensure any transaction under your scope is properly recorded in the financial statements. You will have ample opportunity to flex your technical accounting and analytical skills, and dive deep into projects surrounding the financial reporting process, collectively getting us even closer to producing reliable and accurate financial statements in a timely manner.

What You Will Do

    • Manage end-to-end accounting operations for accounts and transactions in the general accounting area e.g. operating expenses, accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, leases, intangible assets, investments, non-trade receivables/payables, loans, equity transactions, etc.
    • Own entities’ overall trial balance, including to oversee accounts and transactions managed by other finance functions.
    • Manage consolidation process at sub-holding level(s).
    • Manage financial statements preparation, other financial reporting deliverables and ad-hoc requests.
    • Manage financial statements audit/review, agreed-upon procedures and due diligence.
    • Constantly challenge the norm and ensure development and delivery of accurate and relevant financial solutions.
    • Identify and implement process improvements to drive efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting process.
    • Manage team on a day-to-day basis and monitor team member performance and development.

What You Will Need

    • 10+ years of experience in finance and accounting area, with 4+ years of experience as an Accounting Manager in relevant industries (e.g. technology, fintech, e-commerce, etc.) and/or as an Audit Manager in public accounting firms.
    • Excellent knowledge in operational finance and accounting.
    • In-depth knowledge of Indonesian Financial Accounting Standards (SAK); familiarity with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Singapore FRS is a plus.
    • Fluency in English (written and spoken).
    • Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office and Google Docs); familiarity with SAP, Coupa and Oracle FCCS is a plus.
    • Ability to understand business processes, think strategically, and identify and propose opportunities for improvement.
    • Strong interpersonal communication skills, attention to detail and accuracy, and problem-solving and analytical mindset.
Gojek Accounting Team has 22 team members based in Jakarta, Indonesia. Working alongside the other finance functions (FP&A, tax, AR, AP, treasury and procurement) as well as business, product and other corporate functions, we own the bookkeeping, overall trial balance and statutory financial statements of all Gojek entities and products in all operating markets. Currently, our team has been busy working on the process improvement to align ourselves with global standard and market practice, which will help Gojek to increase its competitiveness in the global market from a financial reporting perspective.
