Job Description

The Security Engineer III role at Google Cloud Business Platforms involves contributing to the development of security tools and infrastructure, ensuring secure and scalable architecture for cloud systems. Responsibilities include analyzing and deploying security controls, collaborating with engineering teams to prioritize development efforts, and representing cloud system security interests to other teams. This role requires proactive identification and fixing of security flaws and vulnerabilities, working closely with software engineers. The ideal candidate will have experience in security analysis, assessment, testing, authentication, access controls, and privacy, along with knowledge of cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, and software development practices within the cloud security domain.

Must have:

Bachelor's degree in CS or related field
4+ years experience in security analysis and assessment
Contribute to building security tools and infrastructure
Secure, reliable, scalable architecture design and development

Good to have:

Experience in security testing, authentication, access controls and privacy
Knowledge of public and private cloud infrastructure
Knowledge of software development practices in Cloud Security domain

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
4 years of experience in security analysis and security assessment.

Preferred qualifications:

Experience in security testing, authentication, access controls and privacy.
Knowledge of public and private cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, and scalable, performant data systems.
Knowledge of software development practices in the Cloud Security domain.

Contribute to building security tools and infrastructure to analyze, deploy, and manage security controls.
Make contributions to secure, reliable, scalable, perfomant architecture, design, and development for security tooling for cloud systems.
Partner with Security Engineering Managers, Security Engineers, and other partner teams to prioritize software development efforts in support of a secure cloud systems ecosystem.
Represent Security of Cloud System interests to other Software Engineering teams.
