About the Role
The Property Controller is responsible for overseeing and managing the financial operations of Flow’s Real Estate properties. This role ensures accurate and timely financial reporting, analysis, and compliance within the company’s real estate portfolio

Responsibilities

    • Oversee and manage full property accounting month-end close process and support Flow’s overall accounting month-end close process from beginning to end
    • Compile, analyze, and track financial data by performing detailed reviews of monthly property owner reports
    • Develop and maintain relationships with the company's internal and external property managers
    • Work with auditors for interim and year end audits 
    • Internally own tax preparation for real estate entities and coordinate with third party tax advisors
    • Run cash forecast model and monitor cash flow in partnership with other members of the finance team
    • Assist in budget preparation and review
    • Understand and manage payment of loans and loan compliance
    • Oversee retail tenant escalation calculations, including CAM, taxes, and other operating expenses
    • Troubleshoot issues and ensure internal client requests are handled on time, accurately, and with a focus on customer service
    • Coordinate with property management teams to resolve tenant billing and collection issues

Ideal Background

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
    • 7+ years of accounting experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience, with some experience in real estate accounting and analytics
    • Proficiency with Excel, G-Suite, Yardi, Netsuite/Intacct a plus
    • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely and good presentation skills both written and verbal
    • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for real estate property 
    • Knowledge of real estate terms, definitions, and real estate analytical methodology
    • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
