Program Managers at Google optimize Alphabet's extended workforce models. They guide Product Areas, Bets, and Functions through complex initiatives, ensuring policy adherence. This role shapes xWS development and strategic solutions. Responsibilities include partnering with stakeholders for program execution, developing C-level materials, driving cross-functional OKRs focused on cost savings and compliance, mitigating risk, addressing obstacles to xWS policy adoption, and promoting best practices. The ideal candidate will understand xWS, PAs, and Bets' business goals, engage with senior stakeholders, and ensure adherence to Google best practices. They will define and improve project/program management methods, manage scope and resources, make strategic decisions, solve ambiguous problems, and lead post-implementation activities.

Must have:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
10+ years in technical project management or customer-facing role
Program management expertise
Senior stakeholder management
Cross-functional team leadership

Good to have:

Master's degree in relevant field
Experience with analytics, software coding, or web technologies
Technical leadership experience

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
10 years of experience in a technical project management or a customer-facing role.

Preferred qualifications:

Master’s degree in Business, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering or Applied Science, or a related field.
10 years of experience managing projects and working with analytics, software coding, or customer-side web technologies.
5 years of experience in a technical leadership role with/without direct reports.

About the job

Program Managers are instrumental in optimizing Alphabet's extended workforce models. They serve as Extended Workforce Solutions (xWS) experts guiding Product Areas(PAs), Bets, and Functions through complex initiatives, ensuring policy adherence in this constantly evolving sphere. This role shapes our xWS, PAs, Bets, and Functions development and the formation of future-proof strategic solutions.

As a Program Manager, you will partner with xWS stakeholders to ensure program execution and develop C level materials to keep PAs and bets updated on progress. You will also drive cross-functional Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) focused on cost savings and compliance, and mitigate risk. It's essential to identify and address obstacles to xWS policy adoption across PAs, promoting company-wide best practices tailored to enhance operational success. An understanding of program management and the processes and tools to effectively manage at scale to meet timelines with the ability to have senior level stakeholder management will be key for success.

In this role, you will understand the xWS, PA’s and Bet’s business goals and regularly engage with senior stakeholders across a cross-functional and geographically dispersed team to ensure adherence to Google best practices.
