We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Program Coordinator to support the implementation and coordination of two key pilot interventions. The Program Coordinator will play a pivotal role in coordinating activities, managing timelines, and supporting stakeholders to ensure the smooth execution of these interventions.

Project: Intervention Implementation Strategy - Strengthen SBC Approach for Bangladesh Nutrition Activity

Duration: 5 Months with the possibility of extension.

Time commitment: 100%

Location: Dhaka, Bangladesh

Background:

The Feed the Future Bangladesh Nutrition Activity aims to improve the nutritional status and health of children under 5 years of age, pregnant and lactating women, and adolescents (10–18 years old) in the Zone of Influence (ZOI) (comprising 21 districts in Barisal, Dhaka, and Khulna divisions in Bangladesh) and in the Resilience Focus Area (RFA) (comprising Cox’s Bazar and Bandarban districts). The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) funded Activity consists of three key components: Result (1) consumption of nutritious, diverse, and safe diets by households; Result (2) social and economic empowerment of women and adolescents; and Result (3) adoption of improved water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) behaviors.

The ten-year program (October 2018 to September 2028) applies a combination of market system development and social behavior change (SBC) approaches that empower market and community actors to address underlying causes of malnutrition in Bangladesh and catalyze sustainable change in communities. To support this goal, the Activity’s partner Quicksand - a specialized Human Centered Design (HCD) firm from India has developed two intervention opportunities centered around the result area 1 of the Activity (consumption of nutritious, diverse, and safe diets by rural households) that are now proposed to advance to the next phase of small-scale pilot testing.

The two interventions to be piloted are:

1. Homestead Support Toolkit: A system to provide knowledge, tools and support on homestead practices such as using the right seeds and fertilizers, expert consultations, and improving access to quality agri-inputs. Build on existing homestead infrastructure to provide knowledge, tools, and support for homestead practices. This also includes exploring the potential of rural entrepreneurs as service intermediaries.

2. Procurement Platform: A hybrid (digital or phygital) system of delivery that employs entrepreneurs across urban, peri urban and rural settings to log demand of raw food (vegetables, fruit, grains, meats etc) and place orders with vendors to either deliver to the local mobile vendors or directly to the households.

Some specific responsibilities of this role include being able to:

  • Coordinate the day-to-day operations of the pilot interventions, ensuring that activities are executed according to the project plan and timeline.

  • Liaise with local communities, rural entrepreneurs, market actors, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth communication and collaboration.

  • Assist in organising field activities, workshops, and training sessions for homestead and procurement interventions.

  • Support data collection and documentation, helping to track progress, challenges, and successes for reporting and evaluation.

  • Maintain detailed project records, ensuring that all project-related information is organized and accessible.

  • Assist the project team in preparing reports, presentations, and updates for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Support the monitoring and evaluation (M&E) process, ensuring data is collected on time and feedback is incorporated into the project.

  • Manage logistics for field visits, community meetings, and stakeholder engagements.

  • Coordinate with the project’s finance and administrative teams to ensure timely procurement of supplies and processing of payments.

  • Proactively identify potential challenges or delays in the implementation process and escalate them to the Project Manager.

  • The applicant should have the ability to travel to remote locations within Bangladesh for extended periods of time to oversee design and implementation of interventions

What we are looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Business Administration, Social Sciences, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in program coordination, field-based project management, or community development roles.

  • Strong organisational and multitasking skills, with attention to detail.

  • Experience in working with rural communities, market actors, or smallholder farmers is a plus.

  • Familiarity with food security, nutrition, or agricultural projects is highly desirable.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal), with the ability to work with diverse stakeholders.

  • Proficient in MS Office and project management tools.

  • Willingness to travel to rural field sites as required.

  • Proficiency in English and Bangla.
