Job Description

Develop and implement advanced performance and power management solutions in software stacks for mobile phone systems. Test and prototype proof-of-concept software modules. Optimize software and hardware stacks. Investigate current hardware and software (silicon chip, firmware, driver, kernel, OS, Apps) and identify improvement areas. Requires Android Framework development experience (CPU, GPU, DSP, microprocessors, performance, or power management), and experience with Android, HAL, User Space, system services, or kernel driver. Responsibilities include developing and implementing power management solutions, testing software modules, optimizing software and hardware stacks, and investigating areas for improvement in hardware and software.

Must have:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science
2+ years Android Framework development experience
Experience with Android, HAL, User Space, system services, or kernel driver
Develop and implement power management solutions
Test and optimize software and hardware stacks

Good to have:

Master's degree or PhD
Experience with scripting languages (Shell, Python)
Experience with performance analysis tools (Perfetto, SQL)
Experience tuning parameters for power and performance optimization
Experience with Android/Linux performance profiling tools (Systrace, Perfetto)

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
2 years of experience in Android Framework development in one or more of the following: CPU, GPU, DSP, microprocessors, performance, or power management.
Experience in development with one or more of the following: Android, HAL - Hardware Abstraction Layer, User Space, system services, or kernel driver.

Preferred qualifications:

Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
Experience in scripting languages like Shell or Python, or performance analysis tools like Perfetto or SQL.
Experience in tuning parameters to optimize power and performance.
Experience with Android/Linux performance profiling tools (e.g., Systrace, Perfetto).

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $136,000-$200,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
