Job Description

Mechanical & Welding Inspector is in charge of performing predefined checks regarding the conformity of mechanical and welding works concerning essentially concrete reinforcements, embedded items, steel liners, etc. during the construction phase, and steel supports, pipelines, equipment fixing, etc. during the installation phase. 

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance of mechanical and welding works with regulatory and technical requirements, including Turkish law 30024.
  • Maintain traceability of inspections, defaults, deviations, and non-conformities.
  • Verify and ensure the proper correction of identified issues.
  • Conduct on-site inspections to guarantee the execution of works aligns with documentation and standards.
  • Elaborate and document Work Inspection Reports.
  • Assess and record defaults or deviations, issuing non-conformity notifications when necessary.
  • Contribute to the AEOS Project Monthly Report by providing insights into inspection activities.
  • Interface with the AEOS Inspection Team, Mechanical & Welding Lead Inspector, and Project Support Team.
  • Adhere to Quality Assurance processes and HSE requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders involved in mechanical and welding works.

Duties:

  • Belong to the AEOS Inspection Team, report to the Mechanical & Welding Lead Inspector, and interface with the AEOS Project Support Team
  • Acquire knowledge of NPP Project referential, including norms, standards, and procedures.
  • Review and comment on execution documentation such as technical drawings and quality plans.
  • Prepare on-site inspections, identifying elementary checks based on Turkish law 30024.
  • Conduct independent tests on samples when necessary, coordinating with accredited laboratories.
  • Respect and follow existing AEOS project Quality Assurance processes.
  • Ensure meticulous observation to detect and record non-compliances.
  • Demonstrate organizational skills to manage inspections efficiently.
  • Rigorously collect and record justifications supporting inspection results.
  • Attend technical meetings upon request.

Qualifications

  • Education: Graduated from Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy Materials Engineering or as a minimum Technical diploma in the mechanical field (High school + 2 years)
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years in inspection or quality assurance/control in mechanical and welding engineering, with a total minimum of 5 years of professional experience. -              
  • Certification (Mandatory): Having a welding diploma/certificate (IWE, CSWIP 3.1 or equivalent). Having valid NDT certificates will be a plus
  • Language: Native in Turkish and able to communicate in English (Russian is a plus).
  • Knowledge: Good knowledge of relevant standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 3834, ISO 17660, ASME 31.1, ASME 31.3. GOST, PNAE G, NP knowledge will be a plus.
  • Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to write technical documents and reports.
  • Behaviour: Impartial and upright, resistant to external pressure, organized, and rigorous.
  • Specific Requirements: Driving license mandatory, flexibility in working time due to construction.
