Job Description

3D Artist for stage set design, must be proficient in 3D Max, modeling, texturing, and lighting. Experience in creating 3D models from 2D concepts is a must.

Must have:

3D Max Proficiency
Modeling & Texturing
Lighting & Mapping
2D to 3D

Good to have:

Draft Sight
Illustrator
Photoshop
AutoCAD

JUNIOR 3D ARTIST- 3D RENDERING CORPORATE STAGE SET DESIGN

The 3D Artist utilizes a creative and technical design skill set within a fast-paced, collaborative environment to support turning artistic concepts into functional Stage Set 3D designs.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Turn Stage Set concepts into designs. Receives direction with specific artistic and technical requirements from (Artistic Director /Client/Hotel Partners) to develop 3D models from 2D concepts for scenic and set pieces.

Work collaboratively with other creative and technical team members and departments to come up with the best solution for the final execution.

Employ a workflow of mixed media and multiple software platforms such as:

3d Max, Draft sight, Illustrator and Photoshop.

Ability to proficiently use techniques such as modeling, sculpting, texturing, lighting and mapping in 3D.

Creates images/graphics to be included on renders and design proposals, and once approved, can create and send a print ready file to providers.

Prerequisites

Must be able to multitask and work collaboratively on shared projects, passing duties between partners.

Must be light-hearted, flexible, adaptable, teachable, focused, driven and possess the ability to handle critique of work.

Must possess self-disciplined work habits, breaking down complex projects into smaller segments and accomplishing tasks within given timelines and deadlines.

Must demonstrate the ability to think, visualize and work in 3D space, working within specific space requirements and to-scale.

CREATIVE PROCESS

3D MODELING AND RENDERING

3d Max preferably but open to compatible software.

Creates 3D models and renders to scale of new Stage Set Designs and Venues to be presented to clients as a visualization of their event.

Makes changes and updates.

AUTOCAD AND/OR DRAFT SIGHT PROFESSIONAL

Collaborates to create layouts of proposed stage set designs.

Collaborates to create fabrication layouts of new scenic pieces and existing inventory pieces.

CREATIVE CLOUD /PHOTOSHOP AND ILLUSTRATOR

Creates graphic design proposals to be used on renders and lay outs.

Completes or modifies designs from customer files and adapts them to required specs for printing or fabrication.

Creates computer-generated full-color ready to print graphics, small and large formats.

Converts graphic files and trace low resolution images.
