Job Description

Lead a Java development team in building a two-part application. The backend gathers and processes financial data from multiple systems, storing it in a MongoDB database. The frontend is a web application enabling client searches. Responsibilities include team management, Java development, writing well-tested code, creating user documentation, supporting the development environment (TeamCity, uDeploy, shell scripting), evaluating new tools and technologies, performing code reviews, and collaborating with stakeholders on requirements and design.

Must have:

9+ years Java development experience
4+ years Team Lead experience
Distributed system development
Modern software development tools knowledge
Team management
Code writing & testing expertise

Good to have:

Scrum experience
Build/deploy automation tools
Linux proficiency

Project description

The application consists of 2 parts. First part is a strong back-end application that gathers information regarding changes of financial data in multiple integrational system, processes it, transforms it, and saves into the global MongoDB database. The second part is a client-oriented web-application that allows clients to perform searches (both custom and strong-typed) on the above-mentioned MongoDB.

Responsibilities

Manage dev team

Write good and well-tested code in Java

Write user/supporter documentation

Development environment support (mostly automation using TeamCity, uDeploy, shell-scripting)

Evaluate and adopt new development tools, libraries and approaches to improve delivery quality

Perform peer code review of project codebase changes

Communicate with stakeholders and help shape requirements and design decisions

Skills

Must have

At least 9 years of experience as Java software developer

At least 4 years of experience as Team Lead

Experience in developing distributed systems

An up-to-date overview of modern software development tools and techniques

Nice to have

Scrum

Able to work with build/configure/deploy automation tools

Linux user
