Job Description & Summary

A business analyst is responsible for assessing companies/businesses and coming up with solutions that deliver real value to the client. They identify and communicate with key stakeholders, gather, review, and analyse business requirements, challenges, and KPIs. They are responsible for translating the client’s high-level business requirements to measurable requirements and acceptance criteria for the Development team to work with and test against. They also analyse current processes to determine what can be improved to achieve their desired outcome as well as help provide recommendations to the client with the most feasible approaches.

Role Requirements:

  • Bridge the gap between Business stakeholders and technical teams.

  • Capable of identifying stakeholders and SMEs at different levels of responsibility, interest, and influence.

  • Be the voice of the client in internal team communications.

  • Oversee various business requirements to ensure coherence and alignment with strategic goals.

  • Determine and develop user requirements for systems in production, to ensure maximum usability.

  • Drive awareness of requirements across business units and teams.

  • Partner with stakeholders across business units to develop analyses and documentation in a collaborative way, communicating effectively and efficiently with technical, managerial, and executive teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and collaborate with stakeholders to understand their business needs, objectives, and challenges.

  • Analyze and document current business processes through conducting stakeholder interviews, workshops, and focus groups to uncover business challenges.

  • Elicit, analyze and document business requirements with clarity, completeness, coherence, and in alignment with strategic goals.

  • Collaborate with technical teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications and user stories.

  • Develop requirements documents, including functional requirements, user stories, process flow diagrams, and acceptance criteria.

  • Ongoingly evaluate and communicate different system requirements and processes including reporting status to all appropriate parties.

  • Author and update internal and external documentation, and formally initiate and deliver requirements and documentation after securing the appropriate sign-off.

  • Collaborate with project managers to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.

  • Develop meaningful and lasting relationships with partners.

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in information technology or computer science.

  • Four or more years of experience in Business Analysis or a similar role.

  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience in documenting different business processes and workflows in the form of flowcharts or any appropriate medium.

  • Excellent communication skills, with an ability to translate high level business needs to specific, measurable, realistic system requirements.

  • Familiarity with both Agile and Waterfall is a plus.

  • Strong working knowledge of relevant Microsoft applications.
