Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned Data Lake Engineering Manager to lead our data lake initiatives and

ensure the efficient and secure management of our organization's data assets. The ideal candidate

will have a deep understanding of data lake concepts, hands-on experience with Parquet and

Iceberg table formats, and a proven track record of addressing data quality, performance, and

security challenges.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement data lake strategies and architectures that align with the

organization's business objectives.

Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of data pipelines and data ingestion

processes.

Ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity throughout the data lake lifecycle.

Optimize data lake performance and efficiency through techniques like partitioning,

indexing, and query optimization.

Implement robust data security and governance measures to protect sensitive data.

Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand their

data needs and requirements.

Mentor and guide a team of data engineers and analysts.

Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in data lake management.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

5+ years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on data lake technologies.

Hands-on experience with Parquet and Iceberg table formats.

Strong understanding of data warehousing and data lake concepts.

Proficiency in data modeling, ETL, and data pipelines.

Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and data lake services.

Knowledge of data security and governance best practices.

Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Experience with data lake analytics tools (e.g., Athena, Presto).

Knowledge of machine learning and AI frameworks.

Experience with data governance and compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).

Certifications in data engineering or cloud technologies.
