Job Description

The TBM (Apptio) Manager oversees the successful deployment and integration of Apptio solutions for clients. This involves managing project timelines, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring implementations meet client requirements and best practices. The role requires translating functional and business requirements into technical designs, leading the design and configuration of TBM models and dashboards, and working with stakeholders to manage operations and TBM adoption. Experience with the TBM value management framework and IT cost reduction initiatives is crucial. Responsibilities include leading project teams, managing client relationships, and conveying complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, proficiency in financial management, and advanced knowledge of IT cost are essential.

Must have:

In-depth Apptio product knowledge

Good to have:

Apptio Recognized TBMA, PMP, or ITIL certifications

TBM-Apptio-Manager

Position description

TBM(Apptio) Manager will be responsible for overseeing the successful deployment and integration of Apptio solutions for our clients

This role involves managing project timelines, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring that the implementation meets client requirements and industry best practices.

The candidate should have a strong background in IT financial management and a proven track record of leading complex TBM implementations.

Understand functional and business requirements from either the client or EY engagement team and translate into a technical design, which meets customer needs, provides maximum solution value, and is within scope of Technology Business Management tools.

Lead design, development and configuration of Technology Business Management models and dashboard in TBM solutions

Work closely with key stakeholders to manage operations, change management and TBM adoption

This role requires experience with TBM value management framework and associated use cases to drive IT value management topics with the client

Business Qualifications

Demonstrated ability to lead project teams and manage client relationships

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering client-centric solutions

Proficiency with financial management practices and principles within the IT sector

Strong understanding of financial concepts such as General Ledger, CapEx, OpEx, Actuals, Budget and Forecast

Advanced knowledge of IT Cost (TCO for Applications, Projects and Services)

Very good understanding of Operational data supporting IT (Labor, Timesheet, Projects etc.) and IT Infrastructure concepts such as Server, Storage, Virtualization, Database and Network

Experience with IT Cost reduction/IT Value management initiatives is preferred

Technical Qualifications

8+ Years of experience in leading TBM solutions implementations - IT Planning, Cost Transparency, Bill of IT, Cloudability

In-depth knowledge of Apptio products and solutions, including TBM (Technology Business Management) methodologies

Proficiency in data analysis, financial modeling, and reporting tools

Experience with integrating Apptio with other enterprise systems and data sources

Ability to customize Apptio solutions to meet specific client needs and requirements

Good project management skills, including the use of tools like JIRA, Azure DevOps or similar

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Finance, or a related field

Relevant certifications such as Apptio Recognized TBMA, PMP, or ITIL are preferred

Team player with solid communication and presentation skills

Experience with other ITFM solutions, IT cost topics (IT cost reduction, cloud cost management, FinOps etc.) are preferred

Knowledge of enterprise IT organizational, business, and technical environments

Ability to cross train and upskill with broader technology transformation offerings
