Data Scientist

This is a mission-critical role. We are a small, diverse, agile, and high-performance engineering team. We’re looking for versatile developers who will:

• Build new products and tools to crunch integration times and time to market.
  
• Improve through peer learning and transmit them to the Setu dev ecosystem.

One particular area of focus for us is to empower developers and users to make the most of financial data. Today, our data is locked up in silos that add friction to how data is accessed and shared. With RBI’s new Account Aggregator framework, this will change forever: data will be seamlessly shared and accessed, based entirely on user consent.

At Setu, we are leading this ecosystem shift and building developer infrastructure and user experiences to enable this change. Our APIs and SDKs will enable developers to improve existing fintech apps and build new apps that amaze all of us.

The Account Aggregator framework will usher in the next big revolution in India, and we are hiring motivated individuals to join us in this effort.

Requirements

What will you do at Setu?

• Serve as lead data strategist to identify and integrate new datasets that can be leveraged from sources like bank statements, securities, and other financial data, and work closely with the product & engineering teams in the development of new data and insight products.
  

• Identify relevant data sources and sets to mine, and collect large structured, and unstructured datasets and variables.
  

• Devise and utilise algorithms and models to mine data stores; perform data and error analysis to improve models; clean and validate data for uniformity and accuracy.
  

• Analyse data for trends and patterns and interpret data with clear objectives in mind.
  

• Stay updated with financial market trends and developments.
  

Who is the right fit for this role?

• Three or more years of experience with data science and data analytics implementations.
  

• Proficiency with data mining, mathematics, and statistical analysis.
  

• Advanced experience in pattern recognition, predictive modeling, and evolving AI techniques.
  

• Experience with programming languages (e.g.: Java/Python, SAS) and SQL.
  

• Experience with PySpark, and visualisation tools like Tableau, Excel, etc. 
  

• Experience working in cloud environments (AWS/ GCP/ Azure).
  

• Knowledge of ML Ops will be an added advantage.
  

• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, research-oriented group that has several concurrent projects.
  

• Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) with various stakeholders and can crisply articulate customer challenges.
  

• Most importantly, someone who can get stuff done!
