Job Description

As a Customer Engineer at Google Cloud, you'll work with the Sales team to introduce Google Cloud to customers, helping them understand its technical features and solve potential roadblocks. You'll support local teams in pursuing business opportunities, addressing aspects of the data lifecycle, and leading technical projects. Responsibilities include conducting technical discovery, architecting client solutions, technology advocacy, supporting bid responses, creating presentations and documentation, and prototyping integrations. You will liaise with product marketing and engineering teams to stay current on industry trends and improve Google Cloud products. The role requires strong communication skills to engage with technical and executive stakeholders. Experience with cloud native architectures, data warehousing, and cloud computing is essential.

Must have:

10+ years cloud native architecture experience
Experience with cloud/on-premise engineering
Excellent communication & presentation skills
Technical problem-solving expertise
Client relationship management

Good to have:

Experience with data warehousing, data lakes
Technical sales or consulting experience
Knowledge of cloud market & customer behavior
Experience with architecture design & optimization

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
10 years of experience with cloud native architecture in a customer-facing or support role.
Experience with cloud engineering, on-premise engineering, virtualization, or containerization platforms.
Experience engaging with, and presenting to, technical stakeholders and executive leaders.
Ability to communicate in English fluently to support client relationship management in this region.

Preferred qualifications:

Experience with architecture design, implementing, tuning, schema design, and query optimization of scalable and distributed systems.
Experience with developing data warehousing, data lakes, batch/real-time event processing, streaming, data processing (ETL/ELT), data migrations, data visualization tools, and data governance on cloud native architectures.
Experience with technical sales or professional consulting in the fields of cloud computing, data, information life-cycle management, and Big Data.
Knowledge of cloud computing (e.g., infrastructure, storage, platforms, and data), cloud market, competitive dynamics, and customer buying behavior.

Responsibilities

Support local teams in pursuit of key business opportunities, engage customers to address aspects of the data life-cycle.
Identify business and technical requirements, conduct full technical discovery, and architect client solutions to meet gathered requirements.
Take responsibility for leading technical projects, including technology advocacy, supporting bid responses, product and solution briefings, proof-of-concept work, and the coordination of supporting technical resources.
Work with Google Cloud Platform products to demonstrate and prototype integrations in customer/partner environments, and travel as needed for meetings, technical reviews, and onsite delivery activities.
Prepare and deliver product messaging in an effort to highlight the Google Cloud Platform value proposition, using techniques that include whiteboard and slide presentations, product demonstrations, white papers, and Request for Information (RFI) response documents.
