Job Description

NBCUniversal is hiring for an associate level engineer/developer to join the SAP SAC team supporting our corporate finance functions. This key role is responsible for development and configuration of SAP reporting tools within NBCUniversal Corporate technology. The position will deliver an efficient SAP Planning and Analytical capability to support multiple business sectors requirements.

As an Associate SAP Developer, you will be responsible for requirements collection and support of analytics solutions specific to SAP Analytics Cloud and/or SAP BW4/HANA. Success in this role requires you to comfortably communicate SAP-technologies in a simplified manner to business users to convey the “art of the possible”. From there – this resource should have the ability to design and build the proposed analytics solution. You will have the opportunity to work with a variety of technologies such as, native HANA modeling, SAP BW modeling, SAP SLT for replication, ABAP CDS View development for analytics, SAP Analytics Cloud, SAP Datasphere and SAP BW4/HANA.

You will act as the first line of response to business created issues and requests for access to SAP BW, AOE, EPM and SAC solutions. You will also work multiple projects in parallel while maintaining a set delivery schedule on all projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Build proposed analytics solutions to support development, unit testing, and go-live
  • Work with SAP Data and Analytics engineering leads to support various project initiatives while actively supporting user questions
  • Create Data Analytics Reports using SAP reporting tools
  • Collaborate with functional teams to translate user stories and problem statements into project/solution requirements
  • Collaborate with extended Data and Analytics teams to define and build data pipelines to and from SAP DW
  • Develop solutions quickly through an Agile process utilizing incremental minimal viable products to obtain user feedback and iterate towards a final solution
  • Partner with functional teams to facilitate the deployment and adoption of delivered solutions
  • Inform / coach key users, where necessary, regarding SAP reporting technologies usage and requests for displaying information in the system
  • Provide recommendations, develop customized solutions as needed, and manage follow-up & evaluation for all SAP planning requirements
  • Develop new Planning scenarios, interfaces, cubes & other reporting structures, as and when identified by business needs/projects
  • Assist with identified stabilization & simplification initiatives to improve overall SAP Analytics processes & performance
  • Review/Update support & operations documentation where required
  • Participate in production support rota during key activity periods when required month-end, quarter-end, year-end etc
  • Ensure consistency of master data between analytical systems
  • Review & improve existing master data interfaces to eliminate master data issues in SAC, BW and BPC
  • Partner with other Business Engagement teams to ensure timely resolution of all issues and to promote good working relationships

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

  • Ability to link development requirements back to business requirements
  • Basic understanding of SQL in SAP
  • Relationship building and influencing ability both inside and outside the organization
  • Taking ownership and ensuring high quality results
  • Active in seeking feedback and making necessary changes

Desired Characteristics:

  • Experience or knowledge providing SAP SAC user training
  • Experience or knowledge of SAP
  • Demonstrate experience in any of following reporting technologies like SAP AOE, EPM, SAC, or Power BI
  • Knowledge of investigating data flows to and from SAC with SAP BW, SAP BPC systems
  • Ability to analyze source systems and investigate data extracts for both SAP and non-SAP sources.
  • Understanding of SAP BW and BPC technologies, including experience in various Data and Analytics solutions based on AWS, GCP and Azure.
  • Understanding of financial analytics and experience in delivering finance and HCM analytics

Salary range: $70,000 - $90,000
