Overview

We are looking for a new member to join our accounting team for our parent company, Swift Media Entertainment, in a fast-paced and exciting startup environment. In this position, you will partner with our Finance and Operations teams to scale our processes and organization to support our continued growth. The Accounting Coordinator will be responsible for assisting with various accounting tasks, including but not limited to financial reporting, accounts payable/receivable, general ledger maintenance, and budget preparation. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. This position requires you to be on-site Mondays-Thursdays in our Playa Vista office.

What You’ll Do

  • Responsible for processing invoices, ensuring timely payments to vendors, and maintaining accurate records of accounts payable transactions.
  • Review and reconcile vendor statements, resolving any discrepancies
  • Maintain accurate records of accounts payable transactions and respond to vendor inquiries and resolve payment discrepancies.
  • Assist senior accountant with month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and analyzing variances
  • Establish, implement and enforce financial and reporting policies and standards in compliance with US GAAP and FASB and the requirements of other applicable regulatory bodies for multiple entities.
  • Assist in providing schedules and commentary reports with respect to operating maintenance account results and variances, and with the production of working capital, cash-flow reports.
  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure proper coding of transactions
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data
  • Assist with external audits and tax filings
  • Undertake special projects as requested

What It Takes To Be Successful 

  • 1 years of experience in accounting or related field
  • BA/BS degree in Accounting or strong combination of education and experience required
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong personal integrity and the highest ethical standards
  • Detail-oriented and able to juggle many tasks at once
  • High proficiency with spreadsheets and building financial models
  • NetSuite experience a plus
